The Healthcare Pre-Employment Training is designed for adult participants to prepare for the healthcare workforce and to explore potential career pathways in the healthcare, human services, and behavioral health fields. This course explores resume building, interview skills, and networking in addition to an introduction to a variety of health-related professions including: public health, medicine, nursing, diagnostics, and therapies. Throughout the course, students will speak with professionals and participate in hands-on training. Certification is included as part of the training and may include Blood Borne Pathogens Certification, Mental Health First Aid Certification, and/or CPR/First Aid Certification. Certain pre-apprenticeship programs also introduce key topics in behavioral health including; abuse, neglect, wellness strategies, addiction, grief, stress, therapeutic practices, and mental health. The exploration of careers including; behavioral health aides, counselors, psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers and other positions within the field of behavioral health and human services enrich the student’s experience.
PATH Academies can be 1- 3 weeks, and meet the standards of a Quality Pre-Apprenticeship program.
